
CHRIS MARKS
Chris Marks was born in Palo Alto, CA and grew up in Napa, California. Chris was always dancing around the house at a young age, and found their passion at age 8 training at a small studio in their hometown.
At age 14, Chris began serious training under Lisa Clark-Schmeling at Dance Direction in Suisun, CA. At age 16, Chris made their TV debut on “America’s Got Talent” with the Lisa Clark Dancers, where their group made the Top 48 of season 7.
Chris’ dream early on was to attend Chapman University and be trained by some of the best professors at their university program. Once admitted, they found their love for choreography as a sophomore with their first piece, Just Love Her, a piece dedicated to the passing of their grandmother, and was awarded Outstanding Choreographer in Chapman’s “Works in Progress” Concert. As a Junior Chris was honored with an Outstanding Performance Award for the “Fall Faculty Dance” Concert, and choreographed a piece about coming out as Genderqueer titled, Metamorphosis.
Chris is a BFA Dance Performance Major and Women Studies Minor at Chapman University and is Graduating in the Spring of 2017. Chris plans on moving to New York City to pursue a career in choreography, dance, and film.
